Talk:Catacomb

Should this page be split off into Catacomb II, or are the games so similar that they are effectively different levels and graphics with the same engine? -- Malvineous 23:24, 22 April 2012 (GMT)

I don't think so, Catacomb and Catacomb II file formats are very similar. The engine only has a few minor changes between the games. However, I do think a Catacomb II page should exist only to redirect to the Catacomb page -- Eros 00:15, 23 April 2012 (GMT)

It doesn't matter if some of the formats are the same (they can still link to the same pages) it just seems a bit messy in the filename/format list where there are a few things that are "Catacomb II only" or similar. The example I'm thinking of is Xargon and Jill of the Jungle - almost the same engine, but they are very different games so they have their own pages. Compare that to Commander Keen 1-3 which are so technically similar that they are listed as a single game (as are many id/Apogee games with multiple episodes.) I'm not familiar enough with the Catacomb series to know for sure which option is best. -- Malvineous 13:34, 23 April 2012 (GMT)
