Shadow Warrior is an oriental-themed first-person shooter using the Build engine. It is one of the final games to use this engine, and compared with the earlier Duke Nukem 3D, has many improvements including 3D sprites, sector-over-sector, drivable vehicles and dozens of new interactive effects. It also uses an updated version of the Build map editor, which can now modify many additional properties of map elements, beyond simply the lotag and hitag. Many of these additional values are used for advanced interactive effects, such as deformable walls, used to design cars that crumple when hit by explosions.
